Problem Note 46117: The icons for SAS® file types might not be displayed correctly after you install SAS® Universal Viewer

DetailsAboutRate It

After you install SAS Universal Viewer 1.2 or SAS Universal Viewer 1.3, the icons for SAS file types might not be displayed correctly.

The problem occurs if, during the installation process, the sasvft95.dll file is not placed in the SAS Universal Viewer installation folder. Placement in this folder is required to display the icons.

Correcting Your Icons

To correct the issue with your SAS icons, do the following.

Step 1:  Locate and save a copy of the sasvft95.dll file. Follow the instructions that pertain to your setup.

  • If either SAS Foundation 9.3 or SAS Foundation 9.4 is installed on your system:

    1. Obtain a copy of the file from the resource folder under your SAS Foundation installation folder. Navigate to one of the following paths, depending on your system architecture, and copy the file.
      • For 32-bit systems: C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.x\core\resource\
      • For x64 systems with 64-bit SAS: C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.x \core\resource\
      • For x64 systems with 32-bit SAS: C:\Program Files\x86\SASHome\SASFoundation\9.x\core\resource\

Step 2:  Save a copy of the file in your SAS Universal Viewer Installation folder.

  • C:\Program Files\SASHome\x86\Universal Viewer\9.3
  • Or

  • C:\Program Files\SASHome\Universal Viewer\9.3

Step 3:  If your .dll is named 64_sasvft95.dll, rename it sasvft95.dll.

Step 4:  Log off from and back on to your system. Icons will be displayed correctly.
